My dearest Father

I am now having the greatest pleasure in writing to you and hoping to hear from you again. The weather is rather wet today and the last two days it has been raining but I hope it will be fine again soon. We have a new play-ground now but we don’t use it yet, their’s a summer house to be built, and swing, and other things to be made and fixed. We have a new Croquet set, I think the children know how to play them by this time at least, I do not know how to play with them; because I never went out-side, when Sister was showing the other children. I thank you very much for the dollar you sent me; and please if you don’t mind me telling you our wants; we want three pair of boots; beginning with the biggest, Amy wears number 5. Esther 4 & I 3. We are going to have a party on Thursday evening, because it will be Miss Moody’s Birthday, we were going to have a picnic this week, but Mr. Croucher is the one to make us have one and it will be the only holiday we will have this term because of our lessons I suppose. Miss Crease is here, she has been here all last week and Sister Alice & Sister Margaret came back on Saterday, I think they are going down to Victoria next week.
We all send our best love and wishes to you. We were so glad to get a letter from you. I think I must close now. Yours
Affectionate Daughter Minnie Chase
P.S. a thousand kisses to you dearest Papa. Send our love to all the children and every one. Please excuse these smudges I will try and write a better one next time in earnest Good-Bye
